And Enroll in the Online EVOC Courses
Please read everything very carefully and follow
text links to additional information where indicated.
For FALL QUARTER (starting in Sept 2010)
All of the online Level 1 (EVOC) courses required for the Designated Subjects Teaching Credential now meet the new CCTC standards and are scheduled to be offered during Fall Quarter of 2010. There is an enrollment cap, but hopefully anyone needing to take courses for a Designated Subjects Teaching Credential will be able to be admitted by submitting their application NOW!
The deadline for all FALL QUARTER Admissions is September 1, 2010, so if you need to meet requirements for a Designated Subjects Teaching Credential please follow the directions below and apply NOW.
Sincerely,
Dr. Ron Pendleton
EVOC Program Coordinator
---------------------------------
PLEASE READ ALL OF THE INFORMATION ABOUT ADMISSION very carefully and follow all of the directions explicitly.
Start with STEP 1 below.
PLEASE NOTE: It is possible (and highly recommended) to subscribe to the E-TEXT for the EVOC 501 (to see all of the course assignments and examples) before applying for admission. To do that just e-mail Dr. Pendleton (rpen@mac.com) and request information about subscribing to the 501 E-TEXT.
After being admitted it is still necessary to register for courses using "MyCoyote" (as described in STEP 2 below). For purposes of admission and registration there is no difference between Distance Learning and Traditional On-Campus EVOC courses and Distance Learners should register for "on campus" EVOC courses even though they will not be attending any classes.
Before starting the application process, please review the information about the EVOC courses you need, starting with EVOC 501 for Level 1, then return to this page and follow the link just below for important information about . . .CO$T
STEP 1 - APPLYING FOR ADMISSION
If you are applying for admission only to complete the EVOC courses needed to clear your Designated Subjects Vocational or Adult credential, and you are not applying for financial aid through the CSUSB Financial Aid Office, please follow the link just below and complete the:Special Admission for EVOC Courses Only
All courses taken in this manner may later be applied to either our Bachelors Degree or Masters Degree for anyone who may want to continue on into either of those programs..
If you are applying for admission to enter our Masters Degree program please contact Joe Scarcella (jscarcell@csusb.edu).
If you are applying for admission to enter a Bachelors Degree program please contact Donna Shea (evoc@verizon.net).
PLEASE NOTE: If you apply for admission for a specific quarter, and then find you are unable to register for any courses during that quarter, you must REAPPLY FOR ADMISSION, indicating the specific quarter that you will actually be able to officially enroll in courses.
After your application for admission has been processed you must then complete the enrollment process described in STEP 2 just below.
STEP 2 - ENROLLING IN COURSES
As soon as possible after you have been admitted (as either "EVOC Only" or to a specific degree progran) you need to activate your "MyCoyote" student ID and complete the registration process through the "MyCoyote" system. For information and directions about how to do that, follow this link to:https://mycoyote.cms.csusb.edu/mycoyote.html
Your MyCoyote Student ID number should be sent to you in an e-mail or letter from CSU San Bernardino. If you do not receive that letter within three weeks of the time you apply for admission, please e-mail Dr. Pendleton (rpen@mac.com) ASAP to indicate the date you applied, that no application status information is posted on the "status" link referenced above and that you have not received any information about the status of your application. It will also helpful to remind Dr. Pendleton of the specific EVOC courses you need to be enrolled in.
VERY IMPORTANT Please be sure to enroll in all three of the following courses, EVOC 501, EVOC518 and EVOC 519, during the same Quarter. The EVOC 501 and EVOC 518 courses offered by Dr Pendleton are done all online with no class meetings and additional time may be allowed to complete EVOC 518. The EVOC 519 course offered by Dr Robertson can be done all online as well. Courses offered at the Palm Desert Campus are done in traditional in-class format.
Check online to get the Call Numbers for the EVOC (Education Vocational) courses you need to register for in the Quarter that you need to officially enroll in those courses. This information is available online at:http://info001.csusb.edu/schedule/astra/schedule.jsp
VERY IMPORTANT: Please pay your registration (enrollment) fees at the same time you register for EVOC courses. In some cases it is possible to register without paying the fees, but anyone who hasn't paid the fees within 5 days of registration is dropped from the courses they have enrolled in by the registration software program. If you register without paying and are dropped from the course because of that, you will need to REINROLL by going through the whole enrollment process again!
PLEASE - After completing the online course registration process, double check your MyCoyote account information to confirm that you have been officially enrolled in the courses you need and that all of the required fees have been paid in full.
After you have been officially admitted and have your MyCoyote Student ID nunber, if you encounter any difficulty with the "MyCoyote" course registration process, please telephone Janet Brooks at 909-537-7370 for assistance.
STEP 3 - CONTACT COURSE INSTRUCTOR
As soon as you have completed the official registration process, please send an e-mail message to the course instructor in which you include your full name, your "MyCoyote" student ID number and a list of all the EVOC courses you have enrolled in for the current quarter. If you have not already started on the E-TEXT, be sure to ask for information about how to subscribe to the E-TEXT for each EVOC course. Each E-TEXT has information, directions and examples to help you complete all of the course assignments.
