Skills Documentation
Option for EVOC Courses
Individuals who have completed teacher education courses at other institutions and submit an acceptable essay (as indicated in the appropriate E-TEXT for each course), may be able to meet requirements for various EVOC courses required for the Designated Subjects Teaching Credential through completing a materials packet (brief portfolio) in which specific skills required for each EVOC course in question are described and verified.
All of the skills required for each of the EVOC courses are listed on the EVOC course information sheets posted on this Web site. Documentation requirements for each course are established by the course instructor. To find which instructors are scheduled to teach various EVOC courses, refer to the EVOC Class Schedules. Then review the instructor's course materials before requesting the Documentation Option for his/her course.
Follow the text links below for more information about each course listed:Start with EVOC 501. It is recommended that you subscribe to the E-TEXT for EVOC 501 before actually registering for the course. Information included in the E-TEXT will provide a checklist and specific directions for skill documentation. It only costs $20 to subscribe to the EVOC 501 E-TEXT and that subscription is good for one year. Follow the link just below for information about:
EVOC 501 (teaching methods).
EVOC 518 (applied field work).
EVOC 519 (computer skills).
